Obtaining your New Jersey real estate license may seem overwhelming, but we’re here to simplify the process for you. Let’s break it down into six easy steps:

2. Pass the Course Final Exam

After completing all course materials, meeting the minimum time requirement, and passing the practice exam, you’ll face a course final exam. To pass, you must score at least 80% on this exam.

3. Pass the New Jersey State Licensing Examination

The New Jersey salesperson real estate licensing exam is administered by PSI. It is live-proctored and can be taken in person or online.

4. Submit Your Fingerprints for a Background Check

As part of the process, you must undergo a criminal history background check by completing the fingerprinting process known as Live Scan.

5. Select a Sponsoring Broker

Before you can submit your application, you need sponsorship from a current and active New Jersey broker. Your chosen Broker will =submit your application to the New Jersey Real Estate Commission. The Center for Real Estate Education offers a list of all active New Jersey Brokers plus questions you can consider asking them.

IMPORTANT:  You must submit your application within one year of passing your Center for Real Estate Education Course Final Exam.
