Obtaining your Florida real estate license may seem overwhelming, but we’re here to simplify the process for you. Let’s break it down into five easy steps:
To begin your journey in real estate, you’ll need to complete a mandatory 63-hour Pre-Licensing course. The Center for Real Estate Education offers this course through its advanced online dashboard which can be paired by live tutoring sessions, offering you the best of both worlds: the benefits of a classroom experience combined with the flexibility and convenience of online learning.
Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge necessary to excel in your licensing exam and kickstart a promising career in real estate.
After you complete all the course materials, meet the minimum time requirement, and pass the practice exam, there is a course final exam. The minimum passing score is 80%. Within 6 months of course registration, you may retest as many times as you need.
You can repeat the course as many times as you need within your 6 month tuition. You may also purchase an extension for a nominal fee.
Once you’ve successfully passed your course exam, there are a few steps to follow. You’ll need to submit your fingerprints to the DBPR and complete a background check, ensuring that you do this at least five days before submitting your application to the state. If you have any questions about the requirements for electronic fingerprinting, you can find answers in the Florida DBPR’s electronic fingerprinting FAQ.
Once you’ve met all the licensing requirements, you’ll want to apply for your Florida real estate salesperson license through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. The DBPR will notify you once your license application has been approved, and this notification will include your RE Application ID number.
Next, you’ll need to successfully complete the Florida licensing exam, which is overseen by Pearson VUE. This exam consists of two sections, addressing both state-specific and national requirements. Florida offers the option to take the licensing exam online with a proctor.
